THE STORY OF THE BÜHLMANN FAMILY

A danish hotel family

FAMILY BUSINESS FOR 3 GENERATIONS

It all started in 1960

Back in 1960, the charismatic Hugo Jensen came to North Jutland with his wife Aloisia Bühlmann, who was born in Switzerland. They came to Aalborg to manage the then ultra-modern and nationally known restaurant Motel Aalborg at the old manor house Scheelsminde.

In 1979, Aloisia and Hugo’s son Peter Jensen and his wife Mona took over and began building what has today become the Scheelsminde manor hotel. Peter and Mona’s daughter Anemette Bühlmann is now in charge of the family business alongside her husband Danni Bühlmann.

From 1 to 8 hotels

Unique hotels - a common foundation

Since 1960, the Bühlmann family has grown and the group now consists of nine unique hotels in Jutland – Scheelsminde in Aalborg, Airport Hotel in Aalborg, Villa Provence in Aarhus, Peak 12 Hotel in Viborg, Airport Hotel in Billund, Hotel Royal in Aarhus, Herman K in Copenhagen and Pier 5 Hotel in Aalborg.

Although all the Bühlmann hotels are different and have their own unique characteristics, they all work from the same core values: dedication, flexibility, intimacy, passion and respect.

BÜHLMANN BELIEVE

We work towards a sustainble future

In the Bühlmann Family, we have a common ambition to be a sustainable hotel chain with a focus on green solutions. We have developed the Bühlmann Believe concept, which illustrates our ambitious environmental policy throughout the group.

Throughout the group, sustainable thinking is deeply rooted in everything we do. For example, meet the receptionist who has replaced their paper pad with digital tools, the chef who prioritizes organic and local ingredients in the kitchen, the cleaning staff who use eco-labelled cleaning products, the hotel manager who invests in locally produced furniture and the waiter who recommends organic red wine in the restaurant.
